The Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK) is a Non-political and Not for Profit making organization governed by a board of 11 elected members.
AWAK is hereby calling for expression of interest by fully paid members to join the Board of
Directors effective the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on 31st May 2024. There
will be one (1) Board Chairman position and six (6) board member positions falling vacant as per the
AWAK Constitution as follows
BOARD CHAIRMAN
CPA Isabel Juma is retiring from the board, having served her full term of three years.
BOARD MEMBERS
- CPA Robina Bosibori Omosa is retiring from the board, having served the full two terms of four years.
- CPA Pamela Anyango Okatch is retiring from the board, having served the full two terms of
four years.
- CPA Pauline Wanjiku Ngoru is retiring from the board, having served the full two terms of four
years.
- CPA Caroline Muthoni Karanja is retiring by rotation, having served one term of two years and being
eligible for re-election; she is offering herself for election.
- CPA Sally J. Rono-Tabut is retiring by rotation, having served one term of two years and
being eligible for re-election; she is offering herself for election.
- CPA Hottensiah Mweru Kaniu is retiring from the board, having served one year of her
second term, and is offering herself for election to the chairman position.
Members of the Association interested in filling the above positions are invited to submit their expression of interest in writing using the Nomination Form attached. Interested applicants must meet the following criteria.
- Be a fully paid-up AWAK member.
- Be conversant with the AWAK Constitution.
- Demonstrated at least two (2) years of leadership and management experience.
- Be Compliant with Chapter 6 of Kenya Constitution,2010.
In addition, their nomination must be:
- Seconded by two (2) fully paid-up members.
- Accompanied by a one-page profile for circulation to the membership and a detailed resume not exceeding 3 pages to be uploaded on AWAK Website during the election period
- Attach a recent passport-size photograph.
- Attach a copy of their national identity card (ID).
- Attach a copy of their Personal Identification Number (PIN) certificate.
Please note that the nomination documents should be duly completed, signed, scanned, and sent to the Returning Officer through the email address elections@awak.co.ke on or before 5th April 2024 at 11.59pm.

Important Dates to Note
- 5th April 2024 at 11:59 pm; Deadline for submission of nomination forms.
- 10th April 2024; Communication to all Nominees.
- 17th April 2024; Communication to general members on the successful Nominees
- 18th April 2024 to 28th April 2024; Campaign period, starts at 12:00 am on 18th April 2024 and
ends at 11:59 pm on 28th April 2024.
- 25th April 2024; Online campaign forum.
- 28th April 2024; Closure of voter register and voting tokens generated.
- 29th April 2024; Sharing of tokens with members.
- 30th April 2024; Voting shall start at 08.00 am and end on 3rd May 2024; at 5:00 pm.
- 3rd May 2024 at 5:00 pm; Tallying and sharing of results with contestants.
- 31st May 2024; Official announcement of the election results during the AGM.
